Procedures and conditions for taking the OACIQ digital commercial real estate brokerage examination

You must successfully complete a basic training recognized by the OACIQ before moving on to the steps below and applying for a certification examination.

Step 1 – Apply for an OACIQ digital commercial real estate brokerage exam

After consulting the exam calendar to find the date that suits you, fill out the Examination Application on the Examination Forms page. It is important to attach to the duly completed and signed form all the required documents in PDF format listed therein (proof of identity, transcript and payment) and send everything to the OACIQ in a single email to examen@oaciq.com, no later than the last day of the registration period specified in the exam calendar, under Details. Otherwise, you will not be registered for the desired session. You will then have to choose a new session based on the spaces available on the calendar.

Step 2 – Notice of examination

The OACIQ will confirm the time and place of the examination by email at least 20 days before the exam date. As this is a digital exam, you will receive a second email with a link to log in to the OACIQ exam platform.

Step 3 - Take the mock exam and change your password

At least 10 days before your exam, you must:

  • Log in to the platform
  • Change the password
  • Take the mock exam

Step 4 – Taking the examination

You must appear to write the exam with a valid photo ID. Valid ID documents are the following:

  • Valid driver’s license issued in Canada
  • Provincial Health Insurance Card
  • Canadian Passport
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • OACIQ licence

It is recommended to arrive 15 minutes before the time scheduled for the examination.

Instructions will be handed out and read before the examination. Note that no programmable calculators and no documents are allowed.

After the exam
