4.5 Act respecting the acquisition of farm land by non-residents
Under the Act respecting the acquisition of farm land by non-residents,1 non-residents shall not, directly or indirectly, make an acquisition of farm land except with the authorization of the Commission de protection du territoire agricole du Québec.2
Duties and obligations of the broker
A broker representing (or providing fair treatment to) a non-resident who wishes to purchase farm land must make any transaction proposal conditional upon obtaining the necessary authorizations from the Commission de protection du territoire agricole du Québec.
