Broker's ethical obligations
Real estate brokers in Quebec, regulated by the OACIQ and the Real Estate Brokerage Act, have specific duties towards their clients to ensure transparency, loyalty and protection throughout transactions.
The duties and obligations of professionals authorized to act by the Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) are set out in the Real Estate Brokerage Act (RAB). By entrusting the OACIQ with the role of enforcing this law, the government is ensuring that all real estate brokers in Quebec respect their ethical duties and obligations.
