Brossard, May 30 2024 – The  consumer awareness campaign of the Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) stood out and won a Gold Award in the External Public Relations Program category at the prestigious Excellence Awards Gala held by the Société québécoise des professionnels en relations publiques (SQPRP).

The Excellence Awards competition is designed to highlight the most inspiring public relations projects and recognize the quality of the work of the professionals who carried them out.

A major awareness campaign

In the early 2020s, the housing market experienced an unprecedented boom. Many consumers waived essential protections such as building inspection and legal warranty to purchase the few properties available during that period. Faced with this situation, the OACIQ reacted with a major awareness campaign aimed at protecting the public, which is the organization's main mission.

An innovative initiative

Traditionally reserved in its external communications, the OACIQ has innovated with a campaign combining public relations, media placement and social networks. The strategy also included promoting the OACIQ's employer brand, incorporating public relations in a way that was consistent with the external communications campaign.

The adoption of a new tone in communication, closer to consumers, gave the campaign greater impact. Key messages, public events, intensified media relations and the new social media strategy have made this approach a reality.
