Be advised that on October 1, 2024, the Quebec Court ordered that the real estate broker licence issued by the OACIQ and the mortgage brokerage representative’s certificate issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers to Mr. Mathieu Joncas, whose establishment is located in Québec City, be suspended from October 7, 2024 to July 3, 2025 for committing the following offences:

File 33-20-2200:


Count 1: In the course of his activities as mortgage broker:
a) during or about the years 2016 or 2017, purchased from a third-party lists of potential clients containing confidential information, without concern or assurance as to whether they had consented to the sharing of their personal data;

b) during or around the years 2017 or 2018, gave these lists to a mortgage broker for the purpose of soliciting clients.

Count 2: In Brossard, on or about October 30, 2019, in the course of an investigation conducted by the Assistant Syndic, failed to disclose to the Syndic all the facts of which he had knowledge concerning the lists of potential clients which he had obtained from a third party.

Counts 1f), 1g), 1h), 1k), 1l): During the years 2017 to 2019, concerning 5 immovables, while he was the principal shareholder and agency executive officer of Centre hypothécaire Dominion Accès, did not avoid placing himself in a conflict of interest by allowing or tolerating mortgage loans to be granted by the company Québec inc., of which he is also a shareholder, to borrowers who had signed a brokerage contract with the agency.

Count 2: During the year 2019, concerning three immovables, while he was the principal shareholder and agency executive officer of Centre hypothécaire Dominion Accès, allowed brokerage fees to be invoiced to borrowers via the company Québec inc., a non-OACIQ licence holder, of which he is also a shareholder, the borrowers concerned having entered into a brokerage contract with the said agency.
