Firms accredited by the OACIQ for electronic document management (EDM)

What does the certification of an EDM system mean?

The OACIQ believes that the proper use of an EDM system promotes compliance with regulatory standards adopted under the Real Estate Brokerage Act (R.S.Q., c. C-73.2) for the keeping of records, books and registers.

The aim of the certification of an EDM system by the OACIQ is only to confirm the compliance of the EDM system with the technical specifications established by the Organization. Therefore, the approval of an EDM system by the OACIQ:

  • does not concern the company that filed the certification request nor its other services, products or activities;
  • shall not in any way be interpreted as conferring an exclusivity on the EDM system of the company;
  • does not guarantee that this EDM system meets the ethical and professional requirements established by the Real Estate Brokerage Act and its various applicable regulations;
  • nor does it guarantee to users that the use of this EDM system meets its obligations under all laws and regulations applicable to its activities.

The accreditation is granted for a period of two (2) years and is renewable. The OACIQ reserves the right to terminate the accreditation or discontinue its accreditation program. If applicable, the OACIQ will inform agencies and brokers.
