Authorized signatory for an agency
To get support with your everyday tasks, you may, as agency executive officer, designate one or more authorized signatories to sign the documents relating to the operations of the OACIQ Certification Department (in your absence or unavailability).
The authorized signatories may be one or more persons you designate among the following:
- Owners, shareholders or administrators of the agency identified in the Registraire des entreprises du Québec
OR
- Holders of a valid licence acting for the agency
Please note that due to the important responsibilities associated with the authorized signatory’s role, an agency employee who does not meet the above criteria cannot act in that capacity (e.g. assistant who is not an OACIQ licence holder).
The authorized signatories can sign on behalf of the agency the OACIQ documents relating to:
- Issuance of a broker licence
- Transfer, cessation of activities
- Suspension lifting
- Broker assignment
- Licence modification
Appointing an authorized signatory
You must submit a request to the OACIQ by completing this form and sending it to [email protected]. An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you to confirm that the request is being processed.
Important: Should one of the signatories leave your agency, you must notify us to ensure that the information on the agency’s record is up to date, in accordance with the regulations.
Request processing
The Certification Department will process the request as soon as possible and will ensure that the designated person is part of your agency.
